These are only samples of the events that we cater for and so if your location or any other factor is not mentioned in the blogs, that doesn’t mean we don’t cater for you or provide the food you and your guests require. Premier Hog Roast Hire – Better than a pig on a spit

Pig on a spit – or slow roasted?

More and more clients are ordering our hog roast hire, and can you blame them? Here at Premier Hog Roast we promise to provide you with a roasted pig that is succulent, delicious and well presented.

We order all our meat produce from our very own Barry the Butcher. With a wealth of experience under his belt, he helps us to make sure that we only use specimens that are free range, locally sourced and perfect for roasting. Every pig we use is ordered especially for your order at the closest time possible to your event, to ensure a fresh roast. We take meticulous care in preparing not just the hogs, but all of the food that we provide – whether that is a simple jacket potato for one or a massive BBQ for two hundred.

Putting a pig on a spit is a tradition that can be traced back through the millennia, and is used as a form of celebration all over the world in Cuba, Montenegro, the Americas and even Serbia. And even though putting the pig on a spit over an open fire or flame is the original method, there are a multitude of other ways used in different cultures and areas across the planet. Putting the pig in slow roasting ovens is our preferred method as it keeps the meat succulent and juicy and maintains more of the flavour.

We can’t tell you exactly what we do to our pigs to make them so delicious. But what we can tell you is that we rub every pig the night before your event with an olive oil and sea salt mixture which makes the skin crackle, the meat turn out tender, and ensures both will be delicious. We take our hog roast hire seriously, and we can guarantee your satisfaction with every roasted pig. We even give you the choice of 3 flavour enhancing rubs that we can smother the animal in pre-roast, and absolutely free of charge: thyme and rosemary; cider and sea salt; honey; or chilli.

We don’t believe in charging you extra to have an event which goes off without a hitch. When ordering a roasted pig from us you get some additional extras that we threw in to sweeten the deal. Freshly baked soft floured bread rolls, Bramley apple sauce and sage & onion stuffing, condiments, sauces, disposable cutlery, plates and napkins; all come with your order free of charge.

So if you need a hog roast, be sure to peruse our menu to see what great food we have on offer. We even have BBQ and jacket potato menus – we really do cater for any occasion! As we always say, no event is too small and no venue is too large. If you should like a booking before Christmas we advise you pick up the phone now to avoid disappointment; as the year draws to an end we are getting busier and busier!

Destinations this Week: Hinkley, Nuneaton and Kenilworth

This week saw Premier Hog Roast in Hinkley, Nuneaton and Kenilworth: 3 historic and scenic towns in the heart of the west midlands. We served up some great customised menus which all went down exceptionally well. Things are getting busier in the run up to Christmas and so we’d just like to remind all our customers that hog roasts are especially popular round this festive time and the orders are flooding in – if you’d like to secure our services then act fast!

A Pig roast in Nuneaton was the first port of call for the week. Did you know that Nuneaton is one of the only remaining towns in the UK to still have an active indoor pub shooting range? The idea was introduced by Queen Victoria in the 1890’s after she heard of the sub-par British shooting in the Boer War. The more you know! Anyway, the hog roast we took to the venue this week was a prize specimen, beautifully glazed in a chilli flavouring rub, as per request of our client. As always, we prepare our pigs the night before the event by covering them with just the right amount of olive oil and salt, to ensure the meat is tender and the crackling is crispy. This method has never failed us, or the generations before us who tried, tested and perfected it before passing it down the line.

Hinkley was up next, and a jacket potato menu for an outdoor sports event was an especially wise choice by our clients, and was appreciated by the players. What better way to warm you up when you find yourself on the verge of winter but also required to run about in the mud for 90 minutes? It’s safe to say that we were soon out of food after the match had ended!

And finally, to end the week, a hog roast in Kenilworth saw us bringing yet another fine pig to roast for our clients – who were in the mood for our signature Thyme and Rosemary flavouring rub with an accompanying bacon and apple stuffing. A superb choice if I do say so myself! A large corporate event was the setting in Kenilworth this week, for over 200 people! We really do mean it when we say no event is too big or too small.

There’s several things which makes Premier Hog Roast the ideal choice for your function or event. It could be our extremely high customer satisfaction rate, or it could be our premium meat sourced locally and exclusively by our friend Barry the Butcher. Or it could be the fact that we take on full responsibility of making sure your event goes off without a hitch, whether it’s a modest back garden or a grand hall. Our staff really do work hard to give you the best event possible. And also, who doesn’t love a pig roast? As aforementioned, we’re quickly getting booked up for Christmas so be sure to contact us via our contact page or by telephone to secure our services.

Winter Barbecue in Birmingham

Don’t let the cold get you down this winter – follow in the footsteps of our recent Birmingham clients and have a winter BBQ…

We understand it can be depressing as the weather starts to deteriorate. The rain becomes more frequent, the sky becomes ever greyer and coats become a necessity. What better way to forget about all these terrible things than with a good old fashioned BBQ? This was the thought process of one of our most recent customers in Birmingham, and we couldn’t have been more impressed by their can-do attitude in the face of such adverse temperatures. What better way to stick it to the weather than with the downright delicious combination of burgers, sausages and jacket potatoes? Here at Premier Hog Roasts we never let the weather stop us from doing our job, and we believe that it shouldn’t stop you from having fun either!

The coats were donned, the gazebos were erected and the food was prepared. Soft floured baps were buttered, meat was marinated, and jacket potatoes were baked. What we took to Birmingham can only be described as a BBQ feast fit for a king. Not only were our vans loaded with our signature pork and apple burgers and old English sausages, we took a wide selection of meat: chicken breasts, (with a variety of flavourful marinades) gammon steaks and cider soaked pork fillet. Yes, although we are primarily a hog roast catering company, it’s safe to say that we know how to BBQ with the best of them. On arrival at your venue our staff do everything possible to ensure that your event goes off without a hitch. You will find each and every one of them to be helpful, polite and cheery!

Rain or shine, cold or not, we guarantee to provide you with amazing service and amazing food. This week in Birmingham we proved this once again! Our gazebos were brimming with 200 people, all too engrossed in the sumptuous food we brought to even laugh about their terrible luck in regards to the weather. There was not an unhappy face to be seen at the venue, only those devouring a juicy and succulent burger or gazing into a piping hot jacket potato smothered in beans.

We want our customers to know that their requests, no matter how zany or unusual, will always be considered. If you want to throw a BBQ in the winter cold, we aren’t going to judge! If you want a glazed chilli flavouring rub smothered onto your hog roast, we will oblige! If you have a catering contract for over 200 people, we will be happy to help! Remember, we are always willing to travel from Warwickshire to all midland and London regions to deliver our delicious menu. All this considered, is there really any reason for you not to hire us? Feel free to contact us

Medieval Hog Roast in Warwick

warwick-castle-ceasars-tower-660x463October/November and December are possibly the most perfect time of year for Hog Roast Hires, hence why we always find ourselves so busy during this period!

There is no event we won’t cater for, nor many we haven’t tried already but in preparation for the Halloween season, this week Premier Hog Roast were asked to cater for an event to which they had never catered before! A Medieval Themed Hog Roast night in Warwick! Taking a Hog Roast back to its historical roots indeed. Roasting a whole pig or animal goes back to the prehistoric caveman era, however, in the Middle Ages, putting on a Hog Roast or any kind of whole spit-roasted animal was reserved for great celebrations, gatherings and events! It was a true display of wealth and status to have a whole pig, and a sign of great strength especially if the animal was hunted, and there was often a great banquet with a table-topping Hog Roast centre piece to celebrate the end of the successful hunting season.

Now, here at Premier Hog Roast we can’t exactly promise to hunt the piggy ourselves, we prefer to source ours with renowned, fair trade, free range local resourcer Barry the Butcher in Stratford (we think it’s much kinder that way) however when you hire with us, you can be sure that you will be receiving the same grandeur, dramatic effect and talking point for grub that it would have been all those hundreds of years ago… but back then we don’t suppose that they had quite as many recipes for beautiful Barbeque rub that we do in our Hog Roast kitchen! So really when you put it like that, we bet our Hog Roast Hire is even tastier! Another advantage to a Hog Roast hire with us…. Spare the servants! The clean-up is all taken care of with us, not one oven to scrub or piece of tin foil to recycle! We’ll handle it all.

The Hog Roast Hire was an amazing fit and perfect choice for the evening! Lit by lanterns and open fires, our pig was steaming and sizzling, kicking up all the mouth-watering meaty aromas, paired with flame torches and kegs of chilled cider and beer to accompany the delicious pork and stuffing batches, all with a view of stunning Warwick Castle over the hill! Having the pig slow roasting added the perfect visual to the already amazingly planned evening and everybody was really excited and happy to get involved and have a try, and it was amazing to see all the effort and how much everybody got involved with the theme of the evening, especially when it takes place in the Midlands, our favourite place!
We love this time of year because of all the exciting events and wintery spirit, with everyone getting geared up for long nights and the holiday season!

All in all another great success for Premier Hog Roast, here’s hoping that the Autumn season brings us lots more exciting events like these! Premier Hog Roast, the perfect catering option for your birthday, christening, wedding and now for all your medieval needs too! 😉

To Hire or Not to Hire a Hog Roast

Here at Premier Hog Roast, we’re all about convenience and organisation so we created a package for hog roast hire.

We believe that Pig Roast Hire is the very best way to celebrate any special occasion: it’s delicious, filling, it looks impressive… but the biggest factor we believe that tips it over the edge is that it saves you a job! Allow us to elaborate; times are hard, the government is mean, and a lot of people go to great lengths to save the pennies nowadays… Therefore a lot of people turn to self-catering, or home made catering, to save the cash on their big days. But what a lot of people don’t comprehend when they do this is that they inadvertently put themselves under a great load of pressure, time consumption, organisation, and at the very least, an awful lot of washing up!

More often than not, the price of “cutting back” adds up to the same or even more than the original cost of catering. In fact, nowadays a lot of people forgo any type of catering whatsoever, even on their wedding days and simply put on a spread that their Mum has stayed up till three in the morning to make, because they don’t believe that affordable and good quality are a pair that go hand in hand. However, here at Premier Hog Roast we don’t think that that is the case.
When you hire a hog roast with us, we can guarantee that you will have no regrets whatsoever, and here are our top 3 reasons why we think hiring is the way forward.

Top 3 Reasons why Hog Roast Hire is a great idea

1. Equipment – a lot of people don’t have the capacity in their own kitchens to cater for a great number of people, and as a consequence to this, you lose freshness, because everything needs preparing bit by bit! With a Hog Roast Hire from Premier Hog Roast, we can provide everything.Yes, everything. The self-contained ovens, the gazebo, tables, cutlery, sides, drinks, you name it and we can accommodate it. And we never forget anything. We are always prepared. And we come straight to you: no running around, no last minute dashes to the supermarket, we cater all over the West Midlands and beyond. In short: no hassle.

2. Value for money – Price is the determining factor with so many things these days and catering is no exception. But the thing about Pig Roast Hire is that though it seems expensive, when you consider you could have everyone fed a delicious hot meal for as little as £500 (the average wedding catering costs anywhere upwards of £4000 for a party of 150) then it doesn’t seem too dear after all!

3. Your big day should be your big day! The last thing that you want on your special occasion is to be faffing with food, counting canapes and making sure everyone has eaten! The number one comment we receive is how happy people are that they hired us and trusted us to run things smoothly! A Hog Roast Hire is an amazing talking point, looks and smells incredible and really adds to the atmosphere of any event, come rain or shine!

Still not sure?

Here at Premier Hog Roast we make sure that your day goes off without a hitch.
